LESSON TYPES

Safe & Test Ready Driving School provide a wide range of lesson types to suit your particular needs. From absolute beginner to mock testing prior to your driving test, refresher and motorway lessons for full license holders, Pass Plus courses to improve your skills and lower your insurance premiums as well as night time driving lessons.

Beginner Driving Lessons

Beginner drivers are taught over the course of their driving lessons how to take and pass the driving test. What this means is becoming a safe and competent enough driver to be able to do so.

You’ll learn how to drive skillfully in a range of different situations. Once you’re ready, you’ll be confident to drive in all kinds of weather, on both urban and countryside roads, and even on motorways. Plus you’ll have mastered the skills and manoeuvres required to pass the test and get your licence.

Mock Driving Tests

Most mocks tests are conducted in the immediate vicinity of the chosen test center, and the driving test route for the mock test is similar to the actual test on the day of the test. The mock test will be conducted and accessed in exactly the same way as the official DVSA practical test. A mock test will include an eyesight test, “show me tell me” questions, one reverse maneuver, and approximately 20 minutes of independent driving. It may or may not include an emergency stop.
An instructor will usually give you a mock driving test a few weeks or so before your real test date o=so that you have time to work and correct any weaknesses.

Refresher Lessons

Refresher driving lessons are a perfect way to improve on certain skills, bump up your road safety or boost your confidence behind the wheel.

We understand that there are several reasons why motorist require refresher lessons; from needing additional assurance to get behind the wheel following an accident to building confidence when driving on a motorway or at night – that's why our instructors are trained to listen to your needs and tailor your course accordingly.

Motorway Lessons

Gain some valuable motorway driving experience. Our driving instructors can take you for a motorway drive before or after passing your driving test. We can demonstrate the handling of traffic, driving at higher speeds and using the motorway service area, a break will be included in this session.

Pass Plus Courses

Pass Plus is a practical training course that takes at least 6 hours and is for drivers to improve their skills and drive more safely. It can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test.
You’ll need a Pass Plus registered approved driving instructor (ADI) to teach you.
It may help you get a car insurance discount if you successfully complete the course.

Night Driving Lessons

Although taking a driving lesson at night might feel nerve-wracking, it's great practice for the future. Your surroundings dramatically change in the dark. Practising manoeuvres will feel different, you'll need to carry out more detailed 360-degree observations, and this will help to increase your driving confidence.
